There is nothing like being in God’s presence. Whether you’re alone or at church surrounded by a huge group of people, being in God’s presence is such a personal experience. It’s a divine and intimate connection between you and God alone. At least, it should be. Sometimes, His presence is so great, that you can feel and sense the light of His glory. Have you ever been there before? I have experienced it personally and it’s such a beautiful thing to behold. I actually believe the reason why every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord is because of how great the light of God’s glory will be on that glorious day. Even the greatest sinner will be astonished and will have no other choice but to bow down and give Him the glory! However, until that day, my prayer today is that not only will sinners run to the light before it’s too late; but that we as born again believers will continue running to the light.

As I was sitting in church this past Sunday, this post hit me like a ton of bricks! I heard it so clearly, “His word is a lamp unto our feet.” Those words simply played in my mind over and over again, and suddenly I began to meditate on it for just a few seconds more. God was reminding me that His Word is what will light my path. And yours too for that fact!

God’s Word is what will show us His perfect plan for our lives. I know that might seem like, “Duh Courtnaye!” But really listen to what’s being said here. Psalm 119:105 says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” What it reveals is that when we run to God’s Word and open it up, the Holy Spirit literally illuminates it and then begins to reveal to us clear direction, increased faith for the journey, more strength, supernatural peace, healing beyond your belief, the need to forgive if we want to be forgiven, how to respond to difficult situations, purpose, and so much more! Whatever you and I need, it is revealed in the light of God’s Word. And once you’ve experienced this revelation, it’s like this light bulb that goes off in your head!

I’m reminded of Proverbs 3:5-6 which states, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Yes! He will direct your path when you acknowledge who He is and trust Him with everything inside of you (your heart). And He will direct your path when you believe what He says, regardless to whether you understand what He’s allowing to take place in your life right now. Run to Him today. Let the Holy Spirit light your way and show you what to do through His word.

Sometimes it gets dark in life, and the way is not always clear. At times, you don’t know which direction to go, but are you seeking it through His word?  Isaiah 50:10 tells us, “…If you are walking in darkness, without a ray of light, trust in the Lord and rely on your God. But watch out, you who live in your own light and warm yourselves by your own fires. This is the reward you will receive from me; You will soon lie down in great torment.” (NLT) Now this is hope that comes with a warning. And what it means is this, “Don’t trust in your own feelings, knowledge, opinion, or wisdom. Instead, trust God to light your path and lead your way or else it will be disastrous.”

Listen, if you are too busy to open up your Bible in your personal time, you’re not going to know what to do or where to go sis. You have to go beyond Sunday's sermon. Dig deeper on Monday. The point here is that as you and I read the Word, God will begin to unravel things in our minds, open up our understanding to things that we didn’t know or understand before, and give us wisdom beyond our years. It’s really a supernatural thing! Many people read the Bible for head knowledge (just to say that they’ve read it), but for us, it’s our roadmap to heaven and our guide to helping us and others live this life. So whatever you do, make it your mission today and everyday to run to the light! Get into God’s Word and let the Holy Spirit illuminate God’s perfect plan for your life. You can’t go wrong! Do it today and watch God move…

Remember, Jesus is coming back soon! And those who endure unto the end shall be saved. So let’s get ready from the Inside Out!
