Have you ever been in a place where you just felt helpless? That moment when you felt like there was just nothing that you could do or say in your natural power to change things? Have you ever been there? Are you there now?

Whether you feel helpless over your fiancé or husband not changing, child acting up in school or in life, your boss or leader doing something that you can’t control, or life’s just hitting you hard through a trial or tragedy, trust me. I get you! But I want to tell you…God gets you more.

And He wants you to cast all of your cares upon Him. Now, I know that might be easy to read, yet harder to do. Again, I get you, sis. However, it truly is the way to encounter genuine peace and self-control. Psalm 55:22 encourages, “Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.” (NLT) As His righteous daughter, He’s got you. So give it to Him.

Personally, there have been moments in my life, when life’s circumstances hit me so hard that all I wanted to do was scream, run away, or throw my hands up and say, “I give up!” BUT…then right after I had those real emotions rise up, is the same time I cried out to God with tears in my eyes and said, “Lord, I need you. I can’t do this by myself. I need your supernatural power to intervene, because I’m just not strong enough.” And that’s when God stepped in…supernaturally.

Quite honestly, sometimes breakthrough happens right away and sometimes is takes a while. Yet, I believe the timing of our tests is God’s choice. Our job in the midst of it all, is to turn it over to Him and believe with everything within us that somehow, someway, He’s going to supernaturally work it out for the good (See Romans 8:28).

Maybe that’s where you are today. Or maybe you know someone who is at this point. Wherever you or he or she is at the moment, I want to encourage prayer. It may sound like the simplest thing, but it’s super powerful! It’s the method where you can be completely open and honest with the Lord about where you truly are in the situation. Meaning, if you’re angry, say it. If you’re afraid, say it. If you don’t understand, say it. And if you just feel helpless, say that too.

Because ultimately, He’s the One who knows how to help you when you feel angry, afraid, clueless, or helpless. He knows. And He wants to help you. Try Him. Trust Him. And call on Him when you feel helpless. He’s waiting for you.

Remember, Jesus is coming back soon! And those who endure unto the end shall be saved. So let’s be ready from the Inside Out!
