Would you agree that we’re living in a wild world? I mean, so much is happening in the world around us today. As each new day dawns, we’re hearing and seeing so much more negativity, violence, and sexual immorality on TV, social media, in our communities, and beyond…that it’s totally mind-boggling! And unfortunately, many are beginning to lose sight of who they are and where they are in time, and where we really need to be as we walk out our Christian walk with God.

The Bible states that we need to be sober, alert, and watchful with prayer (1 Peter 4:7 & 1 Peter 5:8). Many are falling away from the church globally. Sin is running rampant, and the love of many is truly waxing cold. So with that being said, we really need to keep the faith, share the gospel, and learn how to become wise women in a wild world.

It’s time to be a woman of God’s Word sister more now than ever. No more popping in and out of Scripture. And I’m talking to both of us. Sometimes with the busyness of life, you can get caught up in a whirlwind of To-Do-Lists, important work and responsibilities that you either spend little time in His Word or no time at all because of the rat race. Not good! So, in order to walk in wisdom, we MUST become women in His Word.

I want to tell you, as we read, meditate, and study the Scriptures for ourselves, and listen to the Word of God being preached and taught to us consistently, we will become wise women in a wild world with the power of the Holy Spirit. Point of fact, I love attending weekly women’s Bible Study, because it not only refreshes me, but it revitalizes my spirit and allows me the opportunity to grow spiritually with other women in the faith. It’s actually a vital part of my life and has been for nearly 15 years now.

Yet, even with that, I still must allow study time and daily devotion with God alone. That is where God can speak to me through His Word. It’s also a time when I can meditate on Scripture, journal, while also gaining spiritual revelation and wisdom on what to do for that particular day or season in my life. It’s a precious time! Some of you know exactly what I’m talking about. And others will grow to know. Amen! Yet, the point is consistency.

Listen sister, wisdom comes from above. It’s not something we conjure up on our own. If at any moment, you’re having a problem with making a decision on something, or you want to know the will of God or purpose for your life, seek God through prayer and His Word and ask for His wisdom. James 1:5-6 says, “If you need wisdom-if you want to know what God wants you to do-ask him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave in the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. People like that should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. They can’t make up their minds. They waver back and forth in everything they do.”

The key here is realizing that when you ask God to reveal something to you or give you wisdom on a particular thing or situation, believe that He will answer you at just the right time. But be careful not to reason it away in your mind and do your own thing after you’ve asked Him what to do. I’ve been there before too, and it’s not good. I’ve since learned from it and discovered that the best thing to do is to wait for the right thing to do, and follow through on the wisdom given, because God will never fail us. He’s just that faithful! And if you didn’t know yet, wisdom means the power of judging rightly and following the soundest course of action, based on knowledge or experience. (Webster’s New World Dictionary). I like to look at it as “knowledge applied.”

Let me mention a few more things on becoming a wise woman in a wild world before I close this post. Being wise also consists of guarding our hearts, minds, and mouths. Oh yeah! We have to be wise with staying pure in every fiber of our being. In other words, with our personal integrity, thought life, and speech. It would take another blog post to write on this alone. But for now, take hold of a helpful Scripture that I, myself love in James 3:17 which states, “But the wisdom from heaven is first of all pure. It is peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no partiality and is always sincere.” (NLT)

Ponder that for a moment. This is a loaded Scripture, but it’s so clear on what wisdom looks like for us. The book of Proverbs is a great book on wisdom too. I highly recommend it! Personally, I try to read a chapter a day either by my audio Bible app on my cell phone (You Version), Bible on CD while riding in my car, or at home with an open Bible. Either way, I try to fit it in. Think about it. It is 31 chapters for 31 days in a month. Try it!

Hey, becoming a wise woman takes daily practice, commitment in God’s Word, and the power of the Holy Spirit. We cannot attempt to be wise on our own. All we need is a willing heart that wants to please the Lord, and we’ll receive what we need. Remember, we are in the world, but not of it (see John 17:14-15 and Romans 12:1-2). God bless you my sister as you grow in the wisdom of God. Be a wise woman in a wild world! You can do it! And I can too! Until next week…

Remember, Jesus is coming back soon! And those who endure unto the end shall be saved. So let’s get ready from the Inside Out!
