Hey there! Are you a woman of strife or a woman of peace? Really think about this question for a minute, because I believe it’s highly important to Jesus. When He preached the Sermon on the Mount, He told His disciples and all those listening around Him, “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.” (Matthew 5:9) Now, chew on this verse for a moment. We are called the children of God when we are peacemakers. This is the blessed life! Yet, if we’re causing strife in any situation, then we really need to re-examine ourselves to see if we are acting in the faith and as a true child of God. Hmm…Remember, we are called His children when we become peacemakers.

So with that being said, when we break up fights or escalating arguments, and refuse to debate over the Word, ideas, and issues, we are really acting as children of God. But if we entertain or engage in strife, then we’re not really acting as a true servant of the Lord.  Look at 2 Timothy 2:23-24 which warns us, “…Don’t get involved in foolish ignorant arguments that only start fights. The Lord’s servants must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone. They must be able to teach effectively and be patient with difficult people.” (NLT) So the next time you’re tempted to act out of character or presented bait by another individual to indulge in or get involved in some humbug or strife, think about this Scripture. Deny them and the enemy any access. Why? Because you are a child of God! Amen.

Always keep in mind that the enemy causes strife, discord, dissension, fighting, division, and confusion. I’m reminded of Titus 3:10 which says, “If anyone is causing divisions among you, give a first and second warning. After that, have nothing more to do with that person.” Now this may seem harsh, but remember this is the Word of God. In this type of situation, pray about how to handle it, and then do what the Scripture and the Lord is telling you to do. God’s got the rest. Trust me!

I’ve been there before when people have tried to pull me into spiritual debates or caused unnecessary confusion in my life. No doubt, I have not always caught it when it was presented to me. However, through the years and experience, I thank God for the power of the Holy Spirit and wise godly counsel, that I’ve become much more sensitive when this happens. And that’s why I felt led to write this to you today. I pray that you will choose to be a peacemaker and not someone who causes or enjoys seeing strife played out in your relationships via home, work, church, or community. Again, we are called to be peacemakers.

Some of you reading this today have probably never seen some of these Scriptures above written before, and that’s okay. I’ve been there too! But now you know. James 1:22 tells us, “But be ye doers of the word, not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” What this means is that once we know the truth, we then need to live it out ladies! No more strife. No more church as usual. It’s time out for religion (just going to church and hearing the Word with little to no change afterwards). The Scriptures are our instruction for life. The Word is God's word to us. And more now, than ever, God is calling and beckoning us for change through His Word. So I’ll ask you this question again. Are you a woman of strife or a woman of peace? I’d like to think and hope that today, no matter what comes your way that you have chosen to be a blessed peacemaker, which shows that you are a true child of God wherever you are! Amen.

Remember, Jesus is coming back soon! And those who endure unto the end shall be saved. So let’s get ready from the Inside Out!
