Is God calling you to step out in faith? Or has He called you in recent past to do so? If so, how does it or did it make you feel? Excited, scared, or a mix of both emotions? In either case, when God calls us to walk by faith and not by sight as 2 Corinthians 5:7 encourages, the major instruction here is that we trust Him beyond what we can see.

Faith is trusting God. It’s moving forward, knowing that He’s right there with you. It’s believing Him and following His direction at all costs. It’s leaning not to your own understanding, but acknowledging Him in all your ways as Proverbs 3:5-6 states. Faith pleases God.

The Bible tells us in Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” So for starters, know that you can’t please God without faith. And when you go to Him, believe who He says He is. Then finally realize that when you seek Him diligently and wholeheartedly He will reward you, sis. Believe it.

Jesus tells us, “Ask, and it shall be given unto you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Take the Lord at His word. He will answer you in ways that blow your mind! Psalm 119:105 says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” So look for God’s Word to guide your steps and light the way for you to go. God, nor His Word, will ever fail you.

I know trusting God may seem risky. Dangerous. Uncertain. Scary. Exciting. And even upsetting, because you can’t see exactly where you’re going or what God is up to in your life and circumstances. BUT…I encourage you to trust Him anyway.

Personally, I’m learning to trust the Lord deeper. He’s showing me who He is when I place my faith in Him. He won’t steer me wrong. And when I trust in His promptings, acknowledge Him before I make moves, and believe what His Word says, there’s safety and blessings! Jeremiah 17:7 says, “But blessed are those who trust in Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.”

Now…even though that is faith in action, let me say here that it doesn’t mean that it’s easy. Trust me. Trusting God into the unknown is a scary thing. However, I know that as long as I follow His lead, His Word, and direction, He won’t fail me. I just have to keep my eyes on Jesus as I walk by faith and not by sight. Remember, it was when Peter took his eyes and mind off of Jesus when he began to sink. That’s a constant reminder to stay focused on Him and not what’s happening to or around us.

There’s a song that I’m reminded of and it’s called “Oceans” by Hillsong. There’s a part in the lyrics that sings, “Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders, let me walk upon the waters, wherever you would call me. Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander, and my faith will be made stronger. In the presence of my Savior.” Listen to it here and be encouraged (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1m_sWJQm2fs).

Let the Spirit of God lead you wherever He calls you. Let Him take you deeper. Allow Him to strengthen your faith. And be sure to take time to bask in His presence.

Even when you can’t see. Be strong and courageous as Joshua 1:9 commands. And trust Him. Don’t be of little faith as Jesus told the disciples when He got back into the boat with them. Instead, keep walking towards Him, while knowing in your heart that He won’t fail you. He’ll be right there with you as you begin walking by faith, and not by sight.

Remember, Jesus is coming back soon. And those who endure unto the end, shall be saved. Let’s be ready from the Inside Out.
